This eBook contains activities, centers, stationery, postcards, reproducibles
and everything you need to create a school or classroom mail system. The activities
are designed for primary aged children pre-school through second grade.
How to Use This eBook
- Literature—We have provided a list of some of our favorite letter/post
office themed books. We use quality literature to teach concepts across the
curriculum and to incite student interest.
- Stationery & Postcards – There are six stationary sheets,
four postcards, two writing pages, a fold-a-note and envelope pattern that
may be reproduced for your student’s use. These have all been designed
with seasonal graphics that appeal to children and excite interest. Lined
templates are also provided with each.
- Stamps and Address Labels –We have created labels and stamps
for you to use in your classroom post office. These labels and stamps have
been designed to be photocopied onto an AVERY 1” x 2 5/8” address
label page or you could simply photocopy them and cut and paste. The option
is yours.
- Letter Format Pages - We have provided letter format pages which
can be photocopied for each student or enlarged to create a classroom poster
to assist young learners as they begin letter writing in your classroom.
- Write About It & Word Cards – The “Write About It” is
designed to provide children with a word bank to access for spelling and
formatting tips. We have also provided some word cards to get you started.
These word cards may also be used in a pocket chart.
- Postal Worker Hat -This pattern may be used to create hats for each
of your students or hats for students who are assigned classroom postal jobs
such as: collection, sorting and delivery of mail.
- Classroom Mail - This pattern may be used as a mailbox sign, folder
or book cover, logo, chart or anything else you may need.
- Worksheets - There are several worksheets provided to compliment and
extend your letter writing curriculum. These may also be enlarged and used
as posters if you prefer.
